An API takes requests from a user and pulls information based upon the user's request. It makes possible all of the of the interactivity of the internet that we rely upon. Tide Watch is a web application that utilizes an API to give the user information about the wave and weather patterns of the top ten surfing beaches in the world. The web app is designed for users passionate about surfing. Only crucial information is pulled from the API, such as the wind speed or wave height, as to not overwhelm the user.
